The valley of the Ourika
Leaving Marrakesh, a road along the Atlas allows you to join the valley of the Ourika. Thanks to a remarkable use of water in the oued, terrace plantation developed in all the valley, under the earth villages on the sides of the hills. The luxuriant vegetation of this oasis all in length, refreshing place in the summer, creates an amazing contrast with the aridity of the surrounding plains.
Not to miss: the villages of Rhmate, Asguine and Aghbalou - the very typical souk of Tnine-de-l' Ourika on Mondays - a lunch on the grass around the shaded meanders of the Ourika's - an escapade to the "seven waterfalls of the Ourika" after having tasted a delicious tajine to the Setti-Fatma village.

Pilgrimage in Tinmel
This road will lead you not only to the neck of the Tizi-n-Test (2092 m) but also to the foot of the Toubkal mount (4167m), the highest top of North Africa, where different many several days tours are organised through the High Atlas. It will also offer a splendid point of view of the region from where you will contemplate the Berber villages and a landscape of olive-trees, eucalyptuses and cactuses. Farer, lost in a mineral landscape, the Tinmel mosque awaits you. The major silence of the mountain, the austerity and the beauty of the places inspire humility. A stop which will bring you back to a few centuries behind and will teach you more about the tour of the Mahdi Ibn Toumert which chose Tinmel as a place of meditation after 4 years of wandering around. In praise of the spiritual master Calife Abdelmoumen built a mosque characterised by rigorous and sober architecture as the image of the Mahdi?s way of life.

A relaxation afternoon at the Lalla Takerkoust's Lake
Located at about forty kilometers from Marrakech, you will discover Lalla Takerkoust's village. At the edges of the lake the landscape is sumptuous and served as a film decoration and as shooting spot of a famous model photographer.
A simple walk along the banks, farniente or sportive walks, the site gives many possible activities as pedalos, canoe, quad ski-jet, practice of the archery, horse riding, or even a walk in airs in a mongolfiere. Many restaurants are available.
The village of Essaouira's fishermen
On the Atlantic coast, 165 km west of Marrakech, the old Mogador is one of the most attaching city of the Atlantic coast. Equipped with very well preserved ramparts, it became a pleasant holiday resort while keeping the seal of its past. Under the influence of winds, Essaouira enjoys a moderate and mild climate at any season. Essaouira will leave you a deep fascination. Perhaps thanks to the coming to the harbour of the multicoloured boats, the whiteness of the médina, the strength of the trade winds, or the myth of the 1960s which converted Essaouira into the connected place of the hippies routards. One must approach Essaouira with a glance neither pretentious nor inquisitor but with a child like eye on a marvellous coloured water-colour.
Not to miss: the skala of the port and its canons-walk along the ramparts and in the medina - watching the sale of fishes in the auction at the harbour - tasting a dish of fish in one of the restaurants in the open air on the quay - Tour into the dunes of the Sim Cape
Ouarzazate, the mythical place
The Marrakech road to Ouarzazate fascinates the traveller as much by its beauty and the diversity of the landscape as by the surrounding light. Front door of the road to the kasbahs and to the desert, Ouarzazate makes dream more than one traveller. Before you cross the city, you will first cross the High Atlas by the collar of the Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 meters) from where the panorama on the mountains and the plain is a movie set, and where many movies are regularly filmed. The discovery of another world starts: kasbahs and ksour that you will see along your road. Large family residences for the ones, fortified villages for the others, they both belong to splendid Berber cultural heritage that is imperatively to preserve. Approach them and observe them with the greatest respect.
Not to miss (schedule one day leaving very early or two days): Taddert Igherm-n-Ougdal's village - (one of the rare fortified attics to be visited) - the Telouet fortress - ksour of Aït-Benhaddou (where were filmed the Laurence of Arabia movie, a tea to the Sahara, Gladiator) - the kasbah of the Glaoui in Tamdaght - Ouarzazate: the cinematographic studios Atlas, the sight on the valley since the kasbah of Tiffoultoute, the kasbah of Taourirt.
Advice: if you decide to visit Telouet, spend a night at the kasbah of Tourmalines in Ouarzazate.
The valley of the Drâa towards Zagora
From Ouarzazate, you can follow the valley of the Drâa, the longest waterway of Morocco. Kasbahs, ksours, palm plantations and oases will accompany your trip until Zagora through a dreamful landscape. The dunes of the desert are no longer very far. From Zagora where you can for example spend the night in a bivouac, tour in Mhamid can certainly not be missed in your program. "Blue men's" village is out the door of the desert and will give you a total exotic feeling.
