Guest house, traditional atmosphere
In the 90's dies an out of sight aunt that had run away from the France of the 40's to settle in Morocco. At this point in time Maryvonne, history professor in Tours, inherits a splendid residence worth the palaces of the Thousand and One Nights but unfortunately in ruin. For the love of this place charged with history and with the people of this country, she leaves France and dives into the adventure of a rigorous.
Of this old palace of the 19th century, built to host a vizir of the sultan of that time, she made a peaceful and beautiful haven. A huge patio dominates the residence according to the plan of the Islamic tradition. The marvellous garden is divided into four parts in accordance with the mythology of water in the Koran: Paradise is made out of four rivers, oriented to the four cardinal points of the world. Two perpendicular ways rejoin at the central point of the garden where the fountain is and delimit four decorated smalls gardens with greenlush orange trees and palm trees.
In the inside, the spirit of the 19th century insufflates in the place an elegant atmosphere. Decorated with antiques, the residence passionately tells its history and that of the people who liked it. The rooms kept their original dimensions: immense room with superb sculpted ceilings and roomy bathrooms with comfort and elegance.
In addition, Maryvonne will be a guide for you during your stay through her knowledge of Marrakech and will be delighted to share her passions.
And the charm will be complete, to the fallen of the night when the gardener lights old candle lanterns in all the surroundings of the Riyad. Then you will appreciate the magic and romantic atmosphere of these place under the moonlight.
